A little investigating pays off...

We've discovered who our pumpkin thief is already.  Considering that there are about 7 bazillion hungry deer wandering through small Fort Peck, its not hard to believe that they are the guilty ones!

Tony and I woke up to four more pumpkins moved from their spots or missing completely this morning. 

Two of them didn't suffer much damage.  Here are some pictures of them.  They were supposed to be sitting on the right side of the steps, mirroring the other two shown on the left!

This one had a bite mark in it!

The second one was drug a bit further.  The stem was laying next to it...it must have broke off and caused them to only make it that far.

As for the other two missing...Tony wandered out into the yard by the street and found this!

So, that probably explains where the fourth one went, as well as the missing two from yesterday morning...

they were completely eaten! 

Here are the tracks of the guilty culprits.  They are all over our front yard.  (Not sure how well they'll show up on the computer picture though...but trust me...they're there!)

So, our solution to this problem...

1.  We're going to leave Buddy out of his kennel over night.

2.  I'm going to sprinkle cayenne pepper on the tops of the remaining pumpkins.

Hopefully one of these two options will work!

Atleast we know there is not a real thief wandering our quaint little town!  Whew!!!
