Miles

Amy has been telling me that I need to write something on here......So here it goes.
It seems like yesterday it was Amys last day of school, the summer has gone so fast.  8000 miles in the car for weddings and family get togethers, and nearly 2 months of harvest,  and my beautiful wife becoming more and more beautiful everyday as she gets more and more pregnant.  No wonder the summer is already over, and I haven't had much time to sit down and write something.
Harvest started July 27th or so, and ended September 18th.  Peas went slow with rain showers and green fields. The yeilds weren't that great but not bad considering that we barely had any rain in June.  With no time to spare we get right into the wheat.  Some of the fields really suprised us and others were what we expected. 1500 miles later sitting on the combine at 5 to 8 miles an hour,  the tractor, grain cart, and combine are all washed up, greased, and ready for next year.

31 weeks and counting...

So, I promised an updated photo of my baby bump.  Here I am with only 9 weeks to go.  If you compare how far my "ta-ta's" stick out compared to my belly, you can really see the growth.

These first three pictures are me at 31 weeks...
The next three are me at 27, 24, and 20 weeks, respectively.  There's a bit more of growth here lately.
Can't wait to meet baby!!!!!!

Baby Bump

Some of you have been asking to see my baby bump.  I haven't taken a recent picture, but if you go to my August posts, you can see the other three photos of my belly.  As soon as I get my camera back from Tony in the field, I'll get you an updated picture.

31 weeks, only 9 to go!  We're getting more and more excited each day!

In HIS time...

Tony and I were at our Childbirth Preparation class on Thursday morning.  Fifteen minutes into the class my cell phone rang.  I looked down and it said "Call from Home."  I thought to myself, "I'll call them back when we get a break in an hour or so."  Well, five minutes later, it rang again and this time I answered it.  It was my dad and he shared the news with me that my grandfather, his father, had passed away at about 3:15 in the morning.  I burst into tears, so we took a break from class and I talked to my dad for a while.  He said that my brother, Brian, and his new wife, Sarah, stayed the night at the hospital with grandma to watch over grandpa.  At about 3am Brian noticed that grandpa wasn't breathing very much.  He told grandma and she took grandpa's hand.  Keeping her words short she said, "I love you Elmer and will see you in heaven."  Right then he took his last breath, peacefully.

God's timing is amazing.  Grandpa needed to hear those words, and grandma was compelled to say them at that moment.  God knew this.  He was looking out for both of them.  Talking to my grandma on the phone this morning, she stated that it's like grandpa was waiting for me to accept it and say those words before he went with the Lord.  I know that's how He had it all planned out.

It is so reassuring to know that your loved ones are Christians and have a relationship with Christ.  Grandpa moving on from this life on earth is hard for us to cope with, but knowing that He is sitting with Jesus for eternity, patiently awaiting our arrival is reassuring.  Grandma has been able to take great comfort in that fact, bless her heart.

We will miss you Grandpa!!!

"Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil,
for you are with me; your rod and staff, they comfort me.
Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever."
Psalm 23: 4,6
